You Are Not Alone - Let Us Help With Whatever You Need

Due to the LA Wildfires, the past few weeks have been emotional for everyone, especially those in areas directly impacted by the fires. Many people have had to evacuate and some unfortunately have lost their entire homes.

We at OFab just want to say that, no matter what comes, you can always handle it, with some help. You do not have to do these things alone.

We genuinely care for our Clients and partners, and we want to help with the good, the bad and the heartbreaking. Whatever it is, we will find solutions. Firstly, we recommend leaning on your support systems and being patient and understanding with yourself and your loved ones.

1. Let people help:

People want to do something for you, but they often don’t know what or how to go about it. We’ve all said it ourselves, “How can I help?” or “What can I do?” or “What do you need?” Let your friends and family members assist in this process by gathering donations, groceries, towels etc, or volunteering for clean up, or hosting evacuated family or friends. (I am currently hosting an OFab team member and their 2 kitties.)

When the process can feel too overwhelming, that is when we can step in - by setting people up in their new lodgings, getting basic necessities of all kinds, organizing a new space that is functional and works for them, or by transporting anything salvaged, but not yet restored, (furniture or keepsakes) to storage or collecting and organizing donations for anyone who is in need.

2. “I don’t know where to start”:

When we work with Clients who have to decide what to do (either with their loved one’s belongings or their own), we often see them paralyzed or shaken by grief. For many people today, these feelings are certain to challenge anyone. So please let others lift you up in the meantime, at least until you can gather yourself, make sure everyone is safe, and make good decisions for your immediate future (when not in a panic.)

Unfortunately, sometimes your living situation will have to change, but with help, you don’t have to be alone while going through the added stress of (after finding a new place to stay), buying new cleaning and organizing products, arranging for linens, clothes, toiletries or even food.

PLEASE let us help. We have so much experience settling people in to a new place, without any of the basic things we use on a daily basis, and ensuring that they have everything they need when starting over.

What people don’t think about is how to go through this painful process while grieving for their old home, neighbors and neighborhood; their kids schools and favorite family restaurants, beautiful parks where they used to spend gorgeous days outside. That’s what we are here for.

OFab will be here, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed and distressed

Whatever it is, please know that OFab is eager to help, and know that you’re not alone.
